you know how when we watch the news or watch television we automatically get this sense that we are really lucky to have such a life or lifestyle and all because we are away from war torn countries and poverty, and we're relatively wealthy in a worldly kinda sense? well i'm not saying that we don't because i am really grateful to be where i am. but if you take a look at the bigger perspective of things, the bigger perspective of the world the society in which we are born in well ..could be better, could be worst. i mean, people around the world seem so free in some ways, less tied down when they're less wealthy. People with different lifestyles find different forms of leisure or entertainment and it just appeals to me that they don't need money to have fun. realisitically isnt that what life should be about anyways? i mean what are our forms of entertainment? go to the malls, shop, eat, watch movies, spend money? But then again i think it is just the society we're brought up in. The other day i was watching the amazing race where they went to Ethopia. the first thought that came was oh wow, it is probably really wasted there, dirty, old, complete poverty. but it opened up my eyes to realize how happy the kids there are. it draws you away from the superficiality of money, clothes, shoes and cars.would you be happy with an empty hand, lack of new clothes, and walking around barefoot ? depending on the way you think about it ... you don't worry so much about the material things or worry about getting run over by a car while walking barefoot in the middle of the day. i think it is amazing to see how happy the people are over there. it really is kinda beautiful.
